Happy New Year

January 1, 2015

Jurongville Secondary School NPCC Unit would like to wish all Officers, Honorary Officers, Cadet Inspectors and Cadets a Happy New Year.

2015 New Year celebration

Year 2014 had been an eventful year for JVS NPCC. At the start of the year, A Boys team and a Girls team represented JVS NPCC in the Biannual Campcraft Competition organized by NPCC HQ. Through this event, cadets had fostered camaraderie among each other and gained some precious experience along the way as for most of them ,it is their first NPCC competition.

JVS NPCC also participated in the annual Speech & Prize Giving Day. Several of our cadets were part of the Guard- Of – Honour contingent. The Parade Commander for this parade is one of our very own JVS NPCC cadet Station Inspector (NPCC) Saib Syarif.

JVS NPCC had also participated in several major parades, for example, NPCC Annual Parade, where 7 of our cadets were nominated to march in this parade. Not to forget the National Day, where most of our cadets from various level were chosen to participate in parades held by Eden school, Jurong Green Community Club and also our own Juronngville Secondary school.

JVS NPCC also participated in Jurongville Secondary School 2nd Inter-UG Freestyle Drill Competition during August.  Even though we did not win, the Cadets had exhibited perseverance and self-discipline as they planned their own routine and practice session. Well done cadets!

An annual camp were also held to welcome the new Secondary 1 cadets into the big JVS NPCC family. Through this event, the Secondary 1 cadets got to know more about NPCC and also bond with their seniors and fellow squadmates. Cadets were also given the chance to experience and know more about Singapore history during the Heritage trail.

A long awaited Kayaking Course were also held for the Secondary 1 – 3 cadets. Through this event, cadets had a new found confidence and learnt more about themselves and their unit mates. New friendships are formed and the time spent together as a unit would certainly be something good to look back to as years goes by.

To end off the year, a Cadet Leader Course were held to prepare the upcoming Cadet Leaders to assume leadership roles in the unit as the current Cadet Leaders are ready to pass out.

We hope that in the Year 2015, JVS NPCC would enjoy another year of success and joy together!
